inetAfrica.com is a products and services directory designed to allow direct interactions between consumers and local businesses in African communities. At the core is an Interactive Business and Social Directory that allows every business and organization to list and define products and services profiles free of charge. It employs a custom search algorithm that let users “pin-point” local resources with ease and allows feedback with each listing.

Tools include City Pages which lists weekly and monthly event notices and directories of essential services for the selected city or town. SkillsDatabase let users post their occupational skills for employment and project collaborations opportunities. Job Board let businesses post job vacancies. Businesses may also use the SkillsDatabase to look for skills that match open positions. CommunityFAQ allows users to know more about African communities by posting questions or reading each community’s FAQ. Restaurants may create full restaurant menus as part of their profiles to give users up to date dining information. Users may signup to Blog about issues in their communities. We have professional photographers on board to make sure your event and product photos are of the highest quality. The application uses auto-complete technology to make it easy for users to locate and interact with local resources.

Interactive Directory

For most businesses and organizations, registering with inetAfrca.com is all the web presence you may need. The directory empowers businesses and organizations to effectively market products and services in the communities they do business, schedule events and business promotions, setup an FAQ knowledge base, respond to user feedback, manage keywords and keyphrases, add and maintain multiple locations, post job openings, easily review job applications, look for skills in our Skills Database, Blog and contribute answers to the communityFAQ, create private groups, subscribe to smart form applications, and securely shop online.

Restaurants may create full restaurant menus as part of their product profile.

Individuals may also register to be able to schedule events, post skills to the Skills Database, respond to open job postings, securely shop online, Blog and contribute answers to the communityFAQ.

Registration is free for all. Users do not need to register to browse the directory and enjoy the City Pages magazine.

 

Pin-point search algorithm

What makes our directory unique is the custom pin-point algorithm. Our goal is to limit search results to the exact need of the user in a specific city or town so we’ve designed an algorithm that do just that. Start typing in the search for text box and a list of possibilities appear for the user to select the most appropriate phrase. By adding a location – also uses auto-complete, users are presented with only the resources that exactly match the search phrase at the selected location.

 

Event notices

Use the Events scheduler to schedule all your events to share with the public. Finally, there is a system (City Pages) that consolidates all events in each city or town so that users can find out about all the goings on in their city or town at anytime. Users may also search for a specific event in a city, town, nation, or the entire network (Africa and the Diaspora).

 

Business Promotions

Business promotions are a good way to attract new customers. Traditionally limited to big business, now every business can afford to run a promotion campaign because it is free to schedule promotions. If users need to find bargains, they just select the bargain they are looking for (sale, price reduction, old inventory, special introductory prices etc) in a specific location and all the promotions that fit the criteria are presented to the user, regardless of product offering.

 

SkillsDatabase

The reason Skills Database was included in the application was the difficulty we encountered trying to find African talent to collaborate on this project. We kept saying if only there is a repository somewhere. There is none so we had to build one to support entrepreneurs in Africa who prefer to work with African talent.

Whether you are a carpenter, an artist, aerospace engineer, or sale specialist - list your profile for projects to find you. When someone is interested in your skill, they will initiate communications with you. You are in control at all times whether to continue with the recruitment process or not.

 

Jobs Board

When businesses advertise, more than likely there will be an increase in new business. Naturally a business that is growing is going to need more help. Businesses may post Help Wanted Ads free of charge. All users can see the Ad but only registered users can apply. Applying to a Want Ad is as simple as a mouse click. Since applicants already have their skills profile on file (which they can update at will), a mouse click delivers the profile to the business advertising for the help.

 

City Pages

City Pages consolidates all scheduled events and business promotions in each city or town in our network onto a single web location. In addition, it lists essential city resources such as Travel Tips, Lodging, Dining, Entertainment, Health care and more, a good resource for travelers.

 

CommunityFAQ

Ever wanted to compare the birth and death rates for each African country? Or know the answer to a specific question for a community in Africa? CommunityFAQ is your answer. Use it to post a question, if the question is not already in the community FAQ knowledge base, and the members of the community will provide answers from several points of views.

 

Restaurant menu

Look around the web and you’ll find that restaurant menus are always created and maintained by third parties resulting in outdated menu information. What if we give restaurant owners the tools to easily create and maintain their own online menus? The result will be credible and up to date information which is a good thing.

Businesses and organizations may select up to 12 key phrases (you have the option to purchase more) from our list of over 4,000 phrases likely to be used to request a product or service. If a phrase that best describe your product or service is not in the list, you can add to it. It takes about 24 hours for the new phrase to be approved.

The first 5 rankings of each phrase are auctioned to the highest bidders. If there are no bids, listing is ranked by first registered, first listed.
